Dr. Hsu is an adjunct Professor on Strategic Management and Leadership Development at Lawrence Tech. University. He is a retired Executive Director from General Motors. His expertise is in globalization, technology development, advanced product and manufacturing engineering, technology strategy and management for automotive industry. He held numerous senior management and corporate R&D and global technology positions at GM.
He has been very active in the Asian American community and the community at large for over 30 years. He has served as Chair for the Michigan Commission on Asian American Affairs, and was a board of director at the Michigan Health Alliance Program, an advisor to the Council for Asian Pacific Americans, and on the board of the Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce. He was the chairman of SAE Emerging Technologies Advisory Board, on the editorial board of International Journal of Automotive Technology and Management, a board member of NRC Manufacturing and Engineering Design, and president of Detroit Chinese Engineers Association. He received numerous community service awards and has always been a strong advocate for social entrepreneur and service initiatives.
He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from National Taiwan University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics from Brown University.
